3.4 Fitting below deck
The dimension F is nominal. In this area the thickness of the deck should not exceed 20 mm (25/32")
If the deck is thicker than 20 mm, it should be possible to reduce this with a cavity. This will allow
the clearance for the top forward drum edge. If the deck is of sandwich construction, ensure that water
cannot enter the core material and cause structural damage.
Furlex TD incorporates an integral screw for ne adjustment of the under deck dimension "A", This
simplies adjustment between different boats. Extra extension links and toggles are available. (For
dimensions see table 3.2.2).
For larger gaps: use a custom-made stainless steel bar or rod stay. Short wire pendants are not recom-
mended as the forestay load may not be distributed evenly and wire will not resist the torque which
may be produced.

3.4.1 Lower bearing assembly
Make sure that there is enough space bet-
ween the forestay tting and deck for the
lower bearing assembly before the hole is
made. (See g 3.4.a and table 3.4.2 for di-
mensions of the lower bearing assembly.)
